Made of cotton saturated with green persimmon tannin, or\u003ci\u003e kaki shibu,\u003c\/i\u003e which gives the distinctive brown color, this utilitarian textile was used in sake making.\u003c\/p\u003e\r\n\u003cp\u003e\n  \u003cspan\u003eCrude sake, or sake lees, was placed in this bag and pressure was applied to squeeze out and filter the liquid.
